Collective azimuthal alignment and transverse momentum conservation in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

It is shown that transverse momentum conservation in the three-source Fai and Randrup statistical model does not explain the collective azimuthal alignment as observed in heavy-ion collisions at Bevalac energies.
