OSTI ID:7186434
The Westinghouse Oceanic Division is participating in the study of ocean engineering issues affecting the design, construction, deployment, and operation of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) power plants. Specifically this study responds to the problems of conceptual design, analysis, and evaluation of three major subsystems; 1) cold water piping, 2) cold water pumping, and 3) platform mooring arrangement. This first quarterly report provides a summary of the study objectives and the highlights of the progress against these objectives. The study strategy is reviewed, a project milestone schedule is presented, and a general plan of work is described.
