The kinetics of eight redox reactions of U, Np, and Pu in solutions of HClO/sub 4/ and HNO/sub 3/ was studied by a spectrophotometric method. Equations are given for the rate of reduction of Np(VI) and Np(V) by hydrazine, the disproportionation of NpO/sub 2//sup +/ ions, the oxidation of Pu(III) and reduction of Pu(IV) by nitrous acid, the oxidation of Pu(IV) by Mn/sup 3 +/ and MnO/sub 4//sup -/ ions, and the oxidation of U(IV) by nitrous acid in the presence of Fe(III). The values of the rate constant were found, and the thermodynamic parameters of activation were calculated for all the indicated reactions. The reaction mechanisms are discussed. 5 tables.
