Coupling property of ICRF 2 x 2 loop antenna in JT-60

This paper presents the first ICRF experimental results of wave coupling to the plasma and impedance matching of the plasma loaded antenna in JT-60. The generator power and frequency are 6 MW and 120 MHz, respectively, the frequency is the second harmonic ion cyclotron resonance frequency of a proton at a toroidal magnetic field of 4T. The range of experimental parameters; n-bar/sub e/ = 1.3approx.6.0 x 10/sup 19/ m/sup -3/, Bt(0) = 3approx.4 T, Ip = 1.3approx.1.5 MA, Rapprox.3m, aapprox.0.9 m and the maximum launched power is 2.1 MW.
