Thermonuclear reaction rates derived from thick target yields
Journal Article

· Astrophys. J.; (United States)
A new technique to extract thermonuclear reaction rates from thick target yield data is described. This technique is applied to a number of experimental yields and the resulting values of N/subA/(sigmav) are fitted to parametric forms suggested by W. A.Fowler and by J. W.,Truran. Reported here are (p,..gamma..) reactions on the nuclei /sup 10/B, /sup 12/C, /sup 28/,/sup 29/Si, /sup 40/Ca, /sup 46/,/sup 47/Ti, /sup 50/Cr, /sup 54/,/sup 56/Fe, /sup 58/,/sup 60/,/sup 61/Ni, /sup 64/,/sup 67/Zn, /sup 70/Ge, and /sup 92/,/sup 95/,/sup 98/,/sup 100/Mo; the (p, ..cap alpha..) reaction on /sup 10/B; and (p,n) reactions on /sup 68/Zn, /sup 74/Ge, /sup 76/Ge, and /sup 95/,/sup 96/Mo.
