Copper laser modulator driving assembly including a magnetic compression laser

A laser modulator is disclosed having a low voltage assembly with a plurality of low voltage modules with first stage magnetic compression circuits and magnetic assist inductors with a common core, such that timing of the first stage magnetic switches is thereby synchronized. A bipolar second stage of magnetic compression is coupled to the low voltage modules through a bipolar pulse transformer and a third stage of magnetic compression is directly coupled to the second stage of magnetic compression. The low voltage assembly includes pressurized boxes for improving voltage standoff between the primary winding assemblies and secondary winding contained therein. 8 figures.
