Parton evolution and the negative binomial multiplicity distribution

In this paper, within a semiclassical parton branching model, the authors derive the evolution equation for the multiplicity distribution in hadron-hadron collisions based on a negative binomial distribution which contains the energy dependence from QCD. The authors deduce the perturbative QCD form of the shape parameters consistent with data in pp, p{bar p} and e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} experiments.
