Tentative method of test for lead (inorganic) in workplace atmospheres by atomic absorption spectrometry

Journal Article · · Annu. Book ASTM Stand.; (United States)
OSTI ID:7182490
The determination of concentrations of lead as low as 0.2 ..mu..g/ml of solution collected in filters, electrostatic precipitators tube, or impingers from air samples by atomic absorption spectroscopy is described. Samples are prepared by ashing the filter, washing the electrostatic precipitator, or diluting the impinger solution to a known volume. In all cases, the final sample is in nitrate form. The sample is aspirated into an air-acetylene flame of the spectrophotometer, and the absorbance of the 283.3-nm line of lead is measured. (BLM)
