The text is divided into eight chapters and four appendices. Nucleon-nucleon forces is the subject of the first chapter, and a background in relevant portions of elementary particle physics is included. The following chapters deal with specific aspects of nuclear structure theory: nuclear shape and moments, nuclear matter characteristics, single-particle shell model, individual-particle model, collective nuclear effects, electromagnetic interactions with nuclei, and beta decay.
