Turbulence force correlation of PWR steam generator tube bundle flow

The Westinghouse Model D4 steam generator uses a counterflow preheater in the lower bundle. A 2/3-scale test model simulated the full 180 deg of the first pass of the preheater, including the feedwater nozzle, water box, Plates, A, B, and D and the vertical partition plate. The test model consists of the full complement of 4578 straight tubes in the cold-leg side of the steam generator, they are of square pitch, and 49 tube rows by 114 tube columns. The tube outside diameter is 0.5 in. with a tube pitch of 0.7083 in. The 2/3-scale model is part of a program to modify counterflow preheat steam generators to reduce flow-induced vibration and wear level in the preheater.
