This patent describes, in a hydraulically actuated control rod drive, a check in the hydraulic circuit between the hydraulic actuator and the hydraulic fluid pressure source for preventing reverse flow of the hydraulic circuit responsive to the ejection of the control rod by ambient pressure within the reactor vessel. The improvement to the hydraulic circuit comprising a hydraulic conduit between the check valve and the hydraulic fluid pressure source.
