The authors proposed a titrimetric method for determination of niobium based on the conversion of niobium to a peroxy complex, its decomposition by Mohr's salt, and titration of excess iron(II) by cerium(IV) salts in the presence of a ferroin indicator. The method was used to determine niobium in technical materials and in samples with a high tantalum content. Titanium and molybdenum interfere in the cerimetric determination of niobium. The purpose of this paper is the creation of a simple and reliable titrimetric method for determination of niobium in the presence of predominant amounts of molybdenum.
