An oil reconditioning device is described comprising an elongated housing having a smooth internal surface and an open top and upper and lower chambers, at least one compressible filter, an inlet communicating through the housing adjacent the bottom of the lower chamber for introducing contaminated oil directly into the filter, a frustoconical element, an outlet communicating through the housing adjacent the lower portion of the element in the upper chamber for removing reconditioned oil therefrom, and a removable lid covering the open top of the housing, adjustable means rigidly attached to the housing adjacent the open top to releasably secure the lid to the housing.
