Waste waters from the production of phosphorus mineral fertilizers are contaminated mainly with fluorine, phosphates and solid suspensions. The most widely used method for treating waste waters entails neutralizing them with milk of lime and clarifying the suspension by adding flocculants. Using the coprecipitation effect of particles of one type with particles of another type is one method for intensifying the process for separating the solid and liquid phases. A significant increase in the classification rate for the suspension resulted from the action of the coprecipitator.
