Disruption of the chemiluminescence autooscillations of the belousov-zhabotinskii reaction as a result of deuteration of the solvent

This paper shows that deuteration significantly decreases the rate of enolization of malonic acid and, thus, the rate of the bromination of the malonic acid to form bromomalonic acid. As a result, the concentration of bromomalonic acid in the D/sub 2/O system does not reach the critical value required for the generation of oscillations.
