Quantum-chemical calculation of surface structures on a hydroxylated aluminosilicate gel

A CNDO/2 calculation of cluster models of an amorphous aluminosilicate gel has shown that its surface aluminum atoms are blocked by water molecules. The acid properties of the aluminosilicate gel are determined by bridging hydroxyl groups.
