This bill was introduced into the Senate of the United States to amend the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to improve the provisions of the act with respect to the health and safety of employees. It is the purpose of this act to: increase the joint participation of employers and employees in identifying and correcting occupational safety and health hazards; improve and expedite the setting of occupational safety and health standards; strengthen federal and state agency enforcement of safety violations and health standards; assure that all employees are afforded full coverage and protection from safety and health hazards; and improve information and data on work related injuries, illnesses and fatalities.
