Supplement No. 1 to the Safety Evaluation Report for Kansas Gas and Electric Company and Kansas City Power and Light Company's application for a construction permit for their proposed Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit No. 1 located in Coffey County, Kansas has been prepared by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The purpose of the supplement is to update the safety evaluation report by providing an evaluation of additional information submitted by the applicants since the issuance of the safety evaluation report and to address the comments made by the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards. Subject to favorable resolution of the items discussed in the safety evaluation report and supplement no. 1 thereto, the staff will be able to conclude that the Wolf Creek Generating Station can be constructed as proposed without endangering the health and safety of the public.
