Proton-hydrogen collisions by the Faddeev approach

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., A; (United States)
Earlier investigations by our group on the H/sup +/-H collision problem using an approximate form of the Faddeev equations have been extended to include the 2p states in both channels in the coupling scheme. Calculations have been performed with and without the proton-proton interaction. Results for the total charge transfer with proton-proton interaction are found to be reliable above 50 keV. Inclusion of 1s, 2s, and 2p states in the coupling scheme is not sufficient to predict the correct nature of the 1s ..-->.. 2s and 1s ..-->.. 2p excitation and capture cross sections by the present method.
