Energy: a key-phrase dissertation index

This index was developed to meet the need for has current and readily accessible information on energy research and development. Nearly 6,000 relevant doctoral dissertations written from 1866 through 1975 that provide historical perspective as well as up-to-date research results are identified. The following aspects of the energy field served as a basis for compiling this index: electric power generation from conventional (fossil fuel, hydroelectric, pumped storage), nuclear (fission, fusion), and unconventional (geothermal, solar, tidal, wind); energy conversion, consumption and conservation, storage and transmission; energy management and policy; energy from ammonia; hydrogen, and methanol; energy recovery from solid waste; energy aspects of transportation; oil and gas reserves and resources, oil well drilling, and oil recovery and refining; pollution aspects of energy; safety aspects of energy development; waste management and treatment; water resources management and planning; and general aspects such as policy, planning, and programs by Federal, state, and local governments, energy agencies, associations, and corporations. Directions for using the index are detailed. (MCW)
