We present results of the application of the Schwinger multichannel method to study the role of Feshbach resonances on the elastic and electronic excitation cross sections in {ital e}-H{sub 2} collisions. Using a {sup 2}{Sigma}{sub g}{sup +} resonance associated with the {ital a}{sup 3}{Sigma}{sub g}{sup +} and {ital E} {sup 1}{Sigma}{sub g}{sup +} states of H{sub 2} as an example, we quantitatively illustrate the dramatic influence of open channels on the decay of such Feshbach resonances in electron-molecule collisions.
