Mode decoupling control scheme of HVDC multiterminal transmission systems

Journal Article · · Electr. Eng. Jpn. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
In the future, HVDC transmission systems will be closely integrated to ac systems. For example, the power transmitted by the dc system will be controlled according to the frequency variation of the ac system. In multiterminal HVDC systems, however, controllers of multiple converter stations may interfere with each other to the extent that the HVDC system may not be able to function properly. A noninterfering control scheme for a multiterminal HVDC system is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed system has been confirmed by simulation experiments.
