Licensing basis events for the Modular HTGR

The design of the MHTGR is being conducted in a top down, goal-oriented manner using the DOE-sponsored Integrated Approach. Methods have previously been presented that enable bridging between this design process and the NRC`s licensing framework. In turn, this structured method for selecting licensing bases supports one of the objectives of the Integrated Approach process, promoting stability in licensing. In this document these bridging methods are applied to derive licensing basis events for the MHTGR. The subject of this document is quantification of the licensing basis event portion of the overall licensing basis for the MHTGR. 5 refs., 6 figs., 8 tabs.
