LASL medical radioisotope research program: radiochemistry problems and new developments. [Cross sections for proton spallation at 590 and 800 MeV]

Conference ·
OSTI ID:7124976

A brief summary is given of the more recent development in the measurements of cross sections and yields in nucleon bombardments, radiochemical separation studies, and radionuclide generator developments. Radiochemical separations were described for /sup 43/K, /sup 77/Br, /sup 82/Sr, /sup 123/I, /sup 127/Xe, and /sup 172/Hf. Cross sections were measured at 590 and 800 MeV for proton spallation reactions on V yielding K isotopes, Mo yielding Sr isotopes, and La yielding I and Xe isotopes. Measurements were made at 800 MeV on Ni yielding Fe isotopes and Ar yielding Cu and Ga isotopes. Measurements were made at 590 MeV on Ta yielding Hf isotopes. (JSR)
