The proceedings consists of 38 papers in 12 sessions. Two sessions on methods and case studies of yield pillar design for longwall and room and pillar mining. Three sessions on prediction, monitoring and dewatering of surface subsidence due to longwall mining. Two sessions on longwall mine design including predriven recovery room, panel layout for multiple-seam mining, selection of shield support type, computer simulation of main roof, mining under strong roof, and physical modeling of overburden movement.
