Multiphoton absorption in ''dirty'' superconductors

The multiphoton absorption of an electromagnetic field of frequency ..omega../sub 0/<2..delta.. is studied theoretically in ''dirty'' superconductors with nonmagnetic impurities at zero temperature. It is shown that for a sufficiently strong field the multiphoton absorption probability at ..omega../sub 0/<2..delta.. may exceed that of single photon absorption with ..omega../sub 0/>2..delta... It is noted that multiphoton absorption allows one to study the angular dependence of the cross section for electron scattering by impurities.
