The two-fermion-loop contribution to the axial anomaly and the Schwinger terms in the massive Thirring model are calculated. Two kinds of regularization schemes are applied: one uses the Fierz transformation and the other does not. The two methods give different results for the axial anomaly, but they give the same result for the Schwinger terms. The relation between the massive Thirring model and the bosonization in the path integral is briefly discussed.
