Bose-Fermi symmetry chain for the description of odd-odd nuclei

A Bose-Fermi dynamical symmetry scheme to describe odd-odd nuclei is proposed. A better agreement with the experimental spectra of /sup 196/Au and /sup 198/Au is obtained as compared to previous studies.
