This patent describes a combustor for a gas turbine engine. It comprises a first liner having an upstream end and a downstream end; a second liner having an upstream end and a downstream end and spaced from the first liner, an annular dome jointed to the first and second liner upstream ends and including a plurality of circumferentially spaced apertures; a plurality of carburetors disposed in respective ones of the dome apertures; a swirler disposed in a respective one of the dome apertures for swirling and channeling air; and a fuel injector disposed in the swirler for channeling fuel into the swirler for mixing with the swirler air for providing the fuel/air mixture into the primary zone; the first and second liners having inner surfaces facing each other; and means for distributing fuel.
