Investigations on multiphoton ionization and fast-beam photodissociation spectroscopy. Progress report

Studies on 2,4-hexadiyne C/sub 6/H/sub 6//sup +/ radical were performed to evaluate the photodissociation apparatus. These studies are being extended to 1,3-hexadiyne and dimethylena cyclobutene C/sub 6/H/sub 6//sup +/ ions. The C/sub 4/H/sub 4//sup +/ ion formed by fragmentation of benzene, etc. was also investigated. Studies are underway on the propargyl halide systems and systems containing the butadiene chromaphone. Isomerization is considered.
