Rock-dusting in coal mines of the State of Washington

The need for rock-dusting in the bituminous-coal mines of the State is described; methane is generated and the explosibility factor of the dry coal dust is high. Rock-dusting methods and equipment used in the Roslyn field and at Bellingham are discussed. A rock-dusting machine for use where compressed air is available is shown.
