We discuss the effect of color transparency'' on {ital J}/{psi}, {psi}{prime}, and {chi} photoproduction off nuclear targets. We find (contrary to the conclusion of other authors) that it is {ital not} an important effect for {ital J}/{psi} production at present energies, so that existing experimental extractions of {sigma}{sub {psi}{ital N}} should be reliable. It may, however, be important when determining {sigma}{sub {psi}{prime}{ital N}} and {sigma}{sub {chi}{ital N}}.
