Method for effecting electric well logging with introduction of a fluid composition to minimize the effect of interfering ions

A method is described of effecting an electric log of a well bore penetrating a subterranean formation comprising: introducing a fluid composition comprising a solution of a water-soluble organic acid salt, positioning electric logging apparatus in a selected zone in which an electric log is to be effected; and logging the selected zone with the electric logging apparatus whereby interference caused by the presence of interfering ions in the other well bore fluid with the measurement of formation resistivity by the logging apparatus is minimized.
