Foam drive oil recovery process
Patent
·
OSTI ID:7093176
A bank of foam, formed in situ from an injected aqueous surfactant solution contacted by a gas, was driven by alternate slugs of gas and water through an oil saturated Boise sandstone core to give 64.4 percent oil recovery. The drive fluid, under reservoir conditions, contained about 5 to 15 volumes of gas per volume of water. O.K. Liquid or Alipol CD-128 (an alkyl polyethylene oxide sulfate) were preferred surfactants.
