The Poker Parallel Programming Environment is a graphics-based interactive system for writing and running CHiP programs. The programs can be emulated or run on the Pringle (when completed). Poker runs on the VAX 11/780 under UNIX using two displays. Poker permits the programmer to encode a parallel algorithm in a convenient, high level interactive environment, but because the authors approach is somewhat nonstandard, he begins with a discussion of our view of the parallel programming activity.
