The fabrication of a superconductive coil formed from a wound braid having a diameter of about .003 inch and of wires is described. The wires in the braid consist of continuous conducting paths of Nb/sub 3/Sn extending the length of the wire along the outer surface, the braid being comprised solely of wires and void space throughout its cross section.
