Wireless power line communication apparatus
This patent describes a power line carrier communications apparatus, comprising: means for modulating a first carrier signal with a baseband message; means for amplifying the first modulated carrier signal, the amplifying means having an input connected to an output of the modulating means; means for inductively coupling the first modulated carrier signal to a power line communications device having a receiver; the coupling means being configured to induce the first modulated carrier signal within conductive components of the power line communications device. This is done when the coupling means is disposed proximate the power line communications device and the first modulated signal is amplified by the amplifying means even when the coupling means is physically and electrically disconnected from the conductive components. The coupling means is removably locatable proximate the power line communications device; and the amplifying means being electrically connected to the coupling means and configured to transmit the first modulated carrier signal to the coupling means.
