(Automation and new technology)
I presented a plenary lecture and attended the Third International Congress on Automation and New Technology in the Clinical Laboratory. In addition, I visited a hospital laboratory that featured the use of robots for clinical applications and attended the 20th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Clinical Laboratory Automation. Prior to attending the two congresses, I chaired the Annual Meeting of the Committee on Analytical Systems of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry. Current and future projects were discussed and planned, and nominations were made for new members.
