Online quality control of multivariable systems

The recently developed approach to total quality control of single-input single-output (SISO) systems is extended to multivariable systems. The design procedure consists of two parts. In part 1 a suitable control law is selected for regulatory control of each loop of the multivariable system. In part 2 the closed loop data are analyzed and rendered amenable to statistical process monitoring. The resulting control charts may be used to achieve on-line quality control of the multivariable system.
