A Systematic Functional Task Analysis (SFTA) for control room instrumentation of a nuclear power plant has been developed. The methodology systematically reviews the plant's worst accident conditions, NRC Regultory Guide 1.97 post-accident monitoring requirements, and multiple failure conditions. Computerized data base management of the analysis is expected to provide a consolidated instrumentation (display/control) characteristics required by operators to mitigate plant transient/accident conditions.
