Possible explanation for the peculiarity of the Crab Nebula pulsar

The distinctive all-wave radiation of the Crab Nebula pulsar may be attributable to the escape of helium from the surface layer because of the ultrastrong electric field. This pulsar is now relaxing to the state typical of other radio pulsars.
