Hydrodynamic boundary conditions and cooling in superfluid /sup 3/He

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Lett.; (United States)
In their superfluid state, /sup 3/He and /sup 4/He need different hydrodynamic boundary conditions. These have been derived and applied to various experimentally relevant situations, expecially cooling. While one surface transport coefficient, the Kapitza resistance, is sufficient to account for any cooling setup in /sup 4/He, three are needed in /sup 3/He.
