Developing a hazardous materials evacuation plan

Effective response to hazardous material spills can be aided by development of an evacuation plan, as part of, or as an adjunct to, other emergency response plans. Valuable standards for the development of such plans can be gleaned from corresponding standards published for radiological emergency response plans. Computer aids presently available have some limitations, but can be of significant help in evacuation planning. 5 refs.
