Conference · · Trans. Am. Nucl. Soc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:7070843
The radioactivity group at the US National Bureau of Standards is responsible for providing many radioactivity standards to the medical profession. The primary instrument for retaining the hard-won basic calibrations of gamma-ray-emitting radioactivity standards is the 4..pi gamma.. ionization chamber. A description of the use of several of these instruments is given, with emphasis on the particular methods and problems involved in calibrations for distribution to users.
