Temperature dependence and fracture toughness and elastic moduli of a waste glass

The temperature dependence of elastic moduli, of the crack lengths formed by Vickers indentations, and of the hardness of the nuclear waste borosilicate glass GP 98/12 has been measured up to 300/sup 0/C. The temperature dependence of the fracture toughness K/sub lc/ exceeds that predicted by the variations of Young's modulus E and hardness H with temperature.
