NTS test bed for novel HVAC systems evaluation

A novel test bed has been constructed which is capable of testing heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems to save peak power and energy. The HVAC system is composed of a hydronic heat pump, two coils and a storage tank. The test bed includes an air flow system, water flow system, electrical power, and instrumentation that is sufficiently general to evaluate HVAC systems for energy when loaded by prescribed latent heat, sensitive heat and chilled air sources.
