The main objective of this research project was to explore techniques and develop analytical tools for utilizing the inherent controllability of multiterminal hvdc transmission to enhance the performance of an integrated ac/dc power system. The final report consists of eight major sections, which describe specific investigations that have been performed during the course of the project. The first four sections pertain to steady-state operation of ac/dc systems, and the last four sections are concerned with multiterminal power modulation.
