The study of some transition metal complexes as process catalysts: Final report for the period September 1, 1984 to August 31, 1987

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7061225
The following are objectives of this project: Preparation and characterization of transition metal complexes with nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur donor ligands especially the poly(pyrazolyl) borate ligands; Preparation of bimetallic complexes of molybdenum and other metals such as nickel, cobalt, and iron; Determination of the ability of the above complexes to catalytically reduce polycyclic aromatic or heterocyclic compounds; Evaluation of these complexes as a coal liquefaction catalysts; Evaluation of these complexes as desulfurization and denitrogenation catalysts; and Training of students in transition metal complex preparation and characterization and in the evaluation of metal complexes as process catalysts. Results are discussed. 1 fig., 15 tabs.
