The Gas Requirements Committee reported on the national and regional impact of gas-supply curtailments estimated for the upcoming 1977-78 heating season, as well as specific data on how the gas distribution industry operated the previous heating season. Over 300 major distribution companies completed survey questionnaires. Surveyed companies were requested to identify actual consumption and curtailed volumes for the 1976-77 heating season and the estimated consumption and curtailed volumes at both normal and 10 percent colder-than-normal weather for the upcoming 1977-78 heating season.
