A perforating gun assembly is described including a releasable coupling for releasing a perforation gun from a tubing string in a well casing after perforation of the well casing, comprising: a housing releasably connected to the tubing string; explosive means mounted within the housing for perforating the well casing; means mounted within the housing for detonating the explosive means to perforate the well casing; and means for releasing the perforation gun assembly, comprising: release means for disconnecting the housing from the tubing string, a piston abutting the release means for actuating the release means; a break plug mounted within the assembly, the break plug having portions forming a passageway partially through the break plug, the passageway providing communication between the piston and the pressure that is present inside the well casing after the passageway of the break plug has been opened; and a baffle plate mounted within the assembly between the break plug and the means for detonating the explosive means to perforate the well casing.
